Leading the fight against cancer in Nigeria through prevention, research, education, and patient support.
To build a healthy Nigeria where preventable cancer-related deaths, and suffering are eliminated through early detection, equitable access to care, and sustained public awareness.
The Nigerian Cancer Society is a leading, community-based organization committed to the prevention, management, and control of cancer in Nigeria. We achieve this through awareness creation, advocacy, cancer research, training and education, impactful community engagement, outreach, and service delivery.
The Nigerian Cancer Society was founded on October 12, 1968 in Ibadan with the mission to develop cancer diagnosis and treatment facilities, educate the public, and conduct cancer research.
Became an associate member of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), connecting Nigeria to the global cancer control community.
Published "Cancer in Nigeria" - the proceedings of the NCS conference held in December 1979, marking our first major successful publication.
Expanded to all six geo-political zones of Nigeria and enhanced digital presence to reach more Nigerians with cancer prevention information and support services.
Our dedicated leadership team guiding the fight against cancer in Nigeria.
